Ivan Peeters has extensive experience as a practicing lawyer with leading law firms (incl. Freshfields, Hogan Lovells, Stibbe, Nauta Dutilh). His focus is on financial law, (international) financial markets and transactions, incl. related regulation. Earlier in his career he was in-house counsel at a leading commercial bank

In his private practice, Ivan provides services to financial institutions (creditors), investors, borrowers and government authorities in relation to their financing needs (lending, DCM, structured and asset-based financing) or their service provision regarding third parties. He has contributed considerably to the development of relevant Belgian legislation (including in relation to securitization, covered bonds, collateral arrangements, residential mortgage lending and securities regulation). During the financial crisis he was involved in the rescue operations of various Belgian banks.

He also serves as board member to financial institutions.  Ivan is the author of numerous publications, covering a wide range of financial law, transactions and regulation.
